We understand that the government shutdown may be creating uncertainty and the concern of possible financial stress ahead. Please know that Valley Oak Credit Union is here to support you. If you're affected, we encourage you to reach out—our team is ready to sit down with you, discuss your situation, and explore personalized options to help you through this time.
And to any of your family members, friends and co-workers who may be affected by this shutdown and are not currently members of Valley Oak – we welcome them to come talk with us to see what options we may provide for anyone who resides in Tulare and Madera Counties, as well as other options found on our membership webpage around who can become a member of our Credit Union.
And in case you were wondering if your deposits with Valley Oak will remain insured during a government shutdown. The NCUA is an independent agency of the federal government, and its operating budget comes from fees charged to federal credit unions and transfers from the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. So credit union members’ accounts will continue to be insured by the Share Insurance Fund.
